About Me

Erica Jackman My name is Erica. I am a stay-at-home mom of 3 wonderful and crazy kids and I live in Salem, Oregon. This blog began early in 2012 as a way to share my finished projects and participate in the quilting community.

I used a sewing machine for the first time in January 2010 and made my first quilt in April of 2010.

Quilting gives me a sense of purpose and an outlet for creativity.  It is extremely relaxing and therapeutic and being able to give handmade gifts brings me a lot of joy.

Many of my quilts have been given as gifts, some to charity, and many more are scattered throughout my house.

I sew on a Janome 6600p and I highly recommend it.  Most of my projects are made with Aurifil 50wt cotton thread.  I buy my fabric from all over the place.  It is amazing how much fabric you can collect in three years :)  If you are interested in where I found a particular fabric, I will do my best to let you know.  If you would like to see a list of my favorite quilting projects, you can find a list of my favorite things here.

I hope that you enjoy the projects that  I document here. Please let me know if you have any questions!

  5. I love to see young quilters loving their families through their quilts, keep it up! I moved to AZ from Cali and my son is still in La Jolla, love Rosie's! And Visions Art Museum is a must every time I come to San Diego.

  6. Welcome to Oregon! I was born and raised here and just wanted you to know that it hardly ever rains on the eastern side of the state.
